Who I am
I am Katharina Siebrecht, cat behaviour consultant, highly sensitive and have the ability to communicate with animals. I currently live in the Dutch border region to Germany with my three fur babies Estrella, Nemo and Shelby.
Even as a small child, I could sense the energies in my surroundings, from people and animals. However, back then these perceptions made me feel very insecure - they often did not correspond to what my environment conveyed to me as reality. For this reason, I increasingly banished my ability from my consciousness over time. Still, the "programme" continued to run subconsciously in the background.
My Spanish street cat Luna, who came to me with an anxiety problem and whom I was blessed to spent twelve years with, awakened my fascination for cat behaviour and behaviour counselling. I started attending courses and seminars on these topics. Eventually I started studying "Animal Psychology Cat" at the Akademie für Tiernaturheilkunde (ATN) in Zurich, which I successfully completed in 2009. This was followed by the BSc (hons) Applied Animal Behaviour at the University of Portsmouth/ Sparsholt College Hampshire in England. I completed this in 2013 with a Bachelor's degree.
During my studies, my interest in scientific work took centre stage. In practice, however, I soon realised that something was missing. I saw problems and causes and assessed everything on a scientific basis. Nevertheless, my gut feeling told me that I often left out important key points during my evaluation. What is the energy like in the animal's environment? How does the relationship between the cat and its owner feel? And what dynamics take place in their environment?
All these points were picked up on by my unconscious "programme", but I ignored them. It was only when I became aware of my perceptive faculties again, which increasingly pushed to the fore, that all the jigsaw pieces fell into place.
Today I combine classic, scientifically based behaviour counselling with my very own way of talking to animals and with energy work for animals and often also for humans. This means that you often don't just get a scientific explanation for your cat's behaviour. In many cases your velvet paw will have his very own say - if both of you agree.
